The Soundettes, a four-part harmony singing
group for women, brings musical therapy to children and senior
citizens. Centered in Larchmont, the group attracts its members
from the Sound Shore, White Plains, Pleasantville and the Dobbs Ferry/Irvington
area. They take pride in -
- their camaraderie that bridges three generations;
- the joy of singing together to brighten other people's lives;
- brightening the education of young children through song;
- sharing of musical memories with older adults during troupings
at the senior centers.
The Soundettes are sponsored by the Junior League of Westchester on the Sound.
WHO: Membership is open to women over the age of 21 who demonstrate an interest in and a commitment to learning music and weekly trouping (singing performances) in diverse settings. The Soundettes offer continuing opportunities for members to sharpen their musical skills.
