(March 18, 2009) The Mamaroneck Tigers’ sixth grade boys team won the Division "A" Tri-County Basketball League championship (TCBL), beating New Rochelle 59-52 in a hotly contested game.

TCBL is a competitive basketball league for young athletes from Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess Counties. This is the second season for the sixth grade Mamaroneck Tigers, who come from Hommocks and Rye Neck Middle Schools. They ended their regular season with an 11-3 record, placing second to New Rochelle. The team went on to end the year with a string of victories and a final record of 15-3.
