ROB BIAGI RECEIVES
COVETED ENDORSEMENT
FROM RESPONSIBLE NEW YORK
Assembly Candidate earns support from Tom Golisano's
new
good government committee for his agenda of change and reform
(September 22, 2008) Rob Biagi, 91st Assembly District
candidate (Sound Shore – Westchester County), today received
the coveted endorsement of successful businessman Tom Golisano's
new committee, Responsible New York. Biagi, a former Assistant District
Attorney (Bronx) and resident of New Rochelle, is challenging Democrat
Assemblyman George Latimer.
Responsible New York endorsed 75 Assembly candidates (out of 150
seats) in total including 18 challengers. Rob Biagi was the only
challenger in the Westchester area so endorsed. Golisano has said
he plans on putting as much as $5 million into this year's elections
to help candidates that favor reform, cutting spending, and putting
our state's economy first.
"This is a huge vote of confidence in my campaign and underscores
my message of urgent reform in Albany – it will build our
momentum heading to Election Day," said Biagi.
"I would like to thank Chairman Golisano and Responsible New
York for this endorsement," said Biagi. "I will continue
to fight for the issues that matter to all New Yorkers and most
especially those on the Sound Shore in Westchester County, like
property tax reform, responsible state budgeting, and ending unfunded
mandates."
"George Latimer missed the train on spending reform and property
tax relief, and his remarkably unproductive tenure as Assemblyman
help explain why he was one of only a few incumbents state-wide
(and the only one in the Hudson Valley area) not selected by Responsible
New York," Biagi said. "I appreciate and embrace this
endorsement and pledge to continue to be a strong and determined
voice for change and reform, always fighting to be the kind of legislator
that families know will always be fighting for them."
"This recognition from a reformer like Tom Golisano emphasizes
that I will never be a rubber stamp for the political bosses and
I will continue to speak up for the kind of positive change that
is so desperately needed in Albany. I know that together, we can
retake Albany from the greedy special interests that have overtaxed
and overspent the taxpayers' hard-earned money for far too long,"
said Biagi.
