JOHN H. ERDMAN

John H. Erdman, 83, of Mamaroneck, NY, a resident of Larchmont and Mamaroneck for 50 years, died November 18, 2008. Son of the late Herbert J Erdman and Edna Kaufman Erdman, he was born in NY City. He was a graduate of the Horace Mann School and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Doris Schwartz Erdman, sons John Jr. and Michael, daughters-in-law Phoebe Lawerence Erdman and Mary Madden Erdman and grandchildren Anne, Elizabeth and John III.

Mr. Erdman served in the U. S. Air Force during WW II and retired as a Captain. Founder and President of Brent-Maitland, Inc., his career in the insurance business spanned more than 59 years. His life long passion for sports and support of youth sports was personified by 30 years of service as a Westchester County Football Official.

John's great sense of humor endeared him to his family and many friends. A valued friend and confidant to many, he was treasured for his integrity, and judgment. Contributions to the charity of your choice are appreciated. There was a private burial service for family and close friends on Thursday November 20, 2008.
