DONATO "DAN" PROTANO
Donato "Dan" Protano died on October 14, 2008 at age 90. Born in Rocca Secca, Italy on January 31, 1918, he served in the Army during WWII where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. For many years he worked in Auto Body Repair and was the proprietor of Dan's Auto Body. He was a charter member and past president of the Alessandro Manzoni Lodge of the Sons of Italy, a second home to Dan. He was also a member of VFW Post 1156.Dan is the beloved husband of Pia (DeCarolis). In addition to his wife he is survived by his cherished daughters, Marie Margiotta (husband Philip) and JoAnn Yanaros (husband Marcus), grandchildren, Philip Jr. (wife Jan) and Bianca Margiotta, great grandchildren, Zachary, Luke and Catherine.
Visitation Friday, October 17 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767 E. Boston Post Rd, Mamaroneck. Funeral Mass Saturday, October 18 at 10 am at St. Gregory the Great RC Church, followed by entombment at St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial donations can be sent to the Alzheimers Association.
