BARBARA PHILBRICK
Barbara G. Philbrick, a longtime resident of Larchmont, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 57.Barbara was born on July 1, 1951 in Bronxville, grew up in Edgemont and attended Edgemont High School, Susquehanna University and NYU Graduate School of Business. She worked for Equitable Life Assurance Society from 1974-1986 when she decided to give up her successful career to raise her two young daughters.
A dedicated and devoted wife, mother, and dear friend to many, Barbara is survived by her husband of 32 years, Jack Wheaton, daughters Christie and Dede, her son-in-law Andrew Galvin, a brother Bill of Crompond, NY and a sister Susan of Singapore, as well as many other close relatives and friends.
Barbara's love of life will be her legacy. Her optimism, fun-loving attitude, boundless energy, compassion and caring for all will never be forgotten.
Visiting will be at the John. J. Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont on Wednesday, October 22nd and Thursday, October 23rd from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 7:00pm -9:00pm and a funeral service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, 4 Fountain Square, Larchmont, NY at 11:00am on Friday, October 24th. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Barbara Philbrick Fund, Cancer Support Team, 875 Mamaroneck Avenue, Mamaroneck, NY 10543.
