JAMES T. GALLAGHER
James T. Gallagher, a long-time resident of New Rochelle and Larchmont died on September 8, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anne M. Gallagher of New Rochelle, and his sons James T. Gallagher, Jr. of Hawthorne, NY, Francis X. Gallagher of Darien, CT and his daughters Grace M. Vandal of Mystic, CT and Mary E. Gallagher of Canton, CT.James T. Gallagher was born on May 17, 1925 to Edward and Anna Gallagher in New York City. He enlisted in and served in the U.S. Navy for over 2 years during WWII, and upon discharge pursued several careers in a variety of industries culminating in his purchase of two seats on the New York Stock Exchange and the establishment of Gallagher Equities as a New York Stock Exchange member firm.
James T. Gallagher was a long-time member of the Larchmont Shore Club and Winged Foot Golf Club. He also served as a Commander of the American Legion Post in Riverdale, NY.
He is survived by seven grandchildren, is survived by his brothers Daniel, Joseph, Arthur and Henry, and predeceased by brothers Tom, Edward, Frank, John and sisters Mary and Anne.
Wake is at Fox Funeral Home, 2080 Boston Post Road, Larchmont, NY, on Friday, September 12, 2:00-4:00PM, and 7:00-9:00PM. Funeral mass is at St. Augustine's, 18 Cherry Avenue, Larchmont, NY on Saturday, September 13, 2008, 10:00AM, followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
