DARRYL ROBIN JACOBSDarryl Robin Jacobs, a 21 year resident of Mamaroneck, New York, left this world on Sunday, August 17, 2008 after a long illness. Darryl, better known as "Jocko? was born on November 9, 1952 in Bronxville, New York to the late Jeanette Jacobs and Charles Thomas and was raised in Tuckahoe, NY. Darryl attended Tuckahoe Public Schools where he excelled in basketball and football.After graduating he joined the U. S. Army. Upon his discharge he became a Steamfitter for numerous companies in Westchester. He was later employed by the Village of Tuckahoe's Dept. of Public Works until his illness made him retire. During Darryl's high school years he met and later married his high school sweetheart Linda Simmons of Mamaroneck, New York. Darryl was a member of the Tuckahoe Elks I.B.P.O.E of Westchester, Temple # 1006. He was predeceased by his parents, his older brother Andre Jacobs, his loving grandfather Severn Jacobs Sr. and his uncle Severn Jacobs Jr. Left to cherish fond memories are his wife Linda Simmons Jacobs, his two children Derek Marc and Adrienne Rae, his grandson Logan Bryce, his two uncles James and Leroy Jacobs and a host of relatives and friends. Viewing will take place on Friday, August 22, 2008, 10-11 AM with the Funeral immediately following at Shiloh Baptist Church, 15 Marbledale Road, Tuckahoe, New York. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory be made to the American Kidney Fund 6110 Executive Blvd. Suite # 1010 Rockville, Md. 20852. |
