MARY JANE FEUERBACHMary Jane Feuerbach, formerly of Larchmont, NY, passed away peacefully at home on June 8th in Lenox, MA, at the age of 77 after a short battle with cancer. Mary Jane was born on July 19, 1930 in New York City. The daughter of Dr. Henry and Catherine Wahn, Mary Jane graduated from the College of New Rochelle in 1951 and later received her Master's degree in Pastoral Counseling from Iona College. Mary Jane married Frederick J. Feuerbach, M.D. in 1954. She and Fred resided in Larchmont for 40 years where Fred was a pediatrician. In 2000, Mary Jane and Fred retired to the Berkshires, where they lived in Lee and then Lenox. While in Larchmont, Mary Jane was active in local politics, serving as a Village trustee from 1977 to 1979. With close friends she opened Pasttimes, an antiques and collectibles store. Mary Jane's warmth and generosity will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She valued her friends and had many treasured friendships. She had an intelligent and quick wit, and her laughter lit up the world around her. In Lenox, Mary Jane enjoyed playing competitive bridge with her husband, Fred. Mary Jane is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Fred; her six children: Kathryn Feuerbach of Brookline, MA; Hildy Feuerbach and her husband Scott Folger of Rockport, MA; Frederick Feuerbach, M.D. and his wife Renee of Larchmont, NY; Maria Dempsey and her husband Lou of Weston, CT; Caroline Lofgren and her husband Parker of Denver, CO; and Christina Fedolfi and her husband Charles of Brunswick, ME; her sister Catherine White; her brothers Vincent, Stephen, and Peter Wahn. Mary Jane was predeceased by her brother Henry Wahn. Mary Jane was a loving grandmother to Nicholas Feuerbach, Garrett and Emmett Folger, Leo and Anna Feuerbach, Luke and Jack Dempsey, Owen and Sophie Lofgren, and Giancarlo and Greta Fedolfi. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 12th at 10:30 AM at St. Ann's Church at 134 Main Street, Lenox, MA. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, June 11th at Roche Funeral Home, 120 Main Street, Lenox from 2 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM. |
