MARY V. NOONE

Mary V. Noone, 75, of Greenwich, formerly Mamaroneck, NY, died on Thursday, April 3, 2008. Born in the Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Bridget (nee McNeive) Dunne. She was the loving mother of Michael Noone and Meghan Baier and the beloved mother-in-law of Mary Alice and Monte. She was also the devoted grandmother of Michael, Matthew, Timmy, and Brian Noone, and Bridget and Monte Baier. She was the dear sister of Elizabeth, and the late Michael, James and Ellen Marie Dunne.

Mary was a registered nurse who worked for many years helping others throughout New York City while employed at the New York Cornell Medical Center as well as the New York City Department for the Aging. During the last 15 years of her working career, she was the Residence Manager at Encore 49, a single room occupancy for the elderly and homeless in Times Square. In each of her roles, Mary's innate kindness and nurturing personality were evident, benefiting countless individuals. These wonderful attributes will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.

Mary was very proud of her Irish heritage and her ancestral roots in Ireland. She was the matriarch of a large extended family through the US and Ireland and was the driving force behind the reunion of over 135 members of the Dunne Family in Ireland in 2005.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 8 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. Friends and family are invited to call from 7-9pm on Sunday, April 6 and from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Monday, April 7 at the Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY, or the charitable organization of your choice. LEO P. GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford, Ct (203-327-1313).
