JAY D. FOLGERJay D. Folger, died on January 10, 2008, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, Connecticut. He was born to Adolph D. and Mabel P. (Johnson) Folger in New Rochelle, NY on September 12, 1930. Jay attended high school in Mt. Vernon, NY, and graduated from Lafayette College. A Korean War veteran, he was a First Lt. in the US Army.Jay raised his family in Larchmont from 1955 to 1988 during which time he served as President of the Westchester County Visiting Nurses Association and as a vestryman at St. John's Episcopal Church. Jay retired after 35 years as a senior sales manager for IBM. After retiring, he moved to Killingworth, Connecticut where he was President of the Madison Art Society and the Killingworth Lions Club. Survivors include his wife BettyJane (Watt); 2 sons: Scott Douglas Folger of Rockport, MA, and David Campbell Folger of Bar Harbor, ME; 2 daughters: Bonnie Katherine McClafferty of Bethesda, MD, and Jennifer Watt Bergeron of New Haven; 7 grandchildren: Garrett, Emmett Jay, Robin, Hayden, Liana, Ryan, and Brendan. His brother-in-law David Watt and wife Joan continue to reside in Larchmont. The family wishes to extend grateful appreciation to the staff of Connecticut Hospice and Hospice Home Care; the doctors and staff at Yale Cancer Center Medical Oncology; and the faithful support of friends and loved ones. |
