St. John's Bazaar: Holiday Head Start + Community Help

Saturday, November 22, 10-3

by Jill Simpson

(November 20, 2008) The theme of this year’s Christmas Bazaar at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Larchmont is “Angels We Have Heard On High,” which seems especially appropriate in a year when the community needs all of us to be angels to help those less fortunate around us. All the money raised at the bazaar is used to support local outreach programs such as the Larchmont-Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force, the CAP Center and the Community Counseling Center.

Shoppers can get a jump start on holiday gift selections and find a variety of items and bargains on Saturday, November 22nd, at St. John’s Episcopal Church on Fountain Square in Larchmont, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

St. John Bazaar
Ryan Gill, Katie Gill and Kate Bryan put the finishing touches on the holiday offerings for St. John's Bazaar to be held on Saturday, November 22nd.

Here are just a few items and events available at this year’s bazaar:

  • Holiday photos for children or the whole family with (or without) Santa, by LJ Studios.

  • Great deals on gently used sporting equipment, including ice skates and hockey equipment, bikes, lacrosse and hockey sticks, Rollerblades and more.

  • One-of-a-kind items at the Silent Auction, including Yankees tickets, U.S. Open tickets, a vacation at a home in the Berkshires, a tour of CNN with morning anchor Kiran Chetry, a sailing excursion, a tour of CBS News and lunch with Lou Young, and more.

  • Bargains on gently used books, toys, collectibles, jewelry and house wares.

  • Crafts and games to entertain the kids while the adults shop.

  • Christmas cards, personalized stationery, and many artisan-made gifts from local vendors. Stock up on well-priced hostess gifts, teacher gifts, Advent calendars and more.

  • One-of-a-kind designer themed wreaths to brighten a home for the holiday season. (Each unique wreath is faux and will last for many years.).

  • A hot lunch or snack and homemade baked goodies, so shoppers can sit down and take a break.

Shopping the bazaar is a way to get in the Christmas spirit for a good cause. For more information, contact St. John’s at 834-2981.
