Are Your For Reel? LMC-TV Hosts VideoFest

by Erik Lewis, LMC-TV Executive Director

(October 22, 2008) LMC-TV asks: Are you for REEL? Prove it! Enter LMC-TV’s First Annual Sound Shore Videofest, sponsored in part by Home Town Media Group/Sound & Town Report.

Do you have a documentary, comic video, YouTube creation, short video sitting in your closet or on your hard-drive? Put it on tape or DVD and send it in. You may win the Grand Prize - a digital video camera.

LMC-TV - Larchmont Mamaroneck Community Television - is the public access
station serving Larchmont, Mamaroneck and Rye Neck. It cablecasts on Cablevision channels 75, 76, and 77 and Verizon channels 36, 35, 34. This year's videofest is for two groups of entrants: local residents (from Larchmont, Mamaroneck or Rye Neck) and non-local residents who live elsewhere in and around the Sound Shore. The grand
p rize for local resident entrants is the digital video camera. The grand prize for non-local entrants is $100.

"We’ve done a video contest for Larchmont-Mamaroneck residents for the past 8 years," said Christina Carino-Forrest, LMC-TV’s contest director. "This year we’re in touch with and reach out to lots of videomakers throughout Westchester and we wanted to reach out to them as well."

Winners will be announced at a gala screening and award ceremony at the Emelin Theater in Mamaroneck on Sunday, December 14, from 2-4 pm.

Deadline for submissions is December 1. Entry is free for LMC-TV members and $10 per submission for non-members. Entries will be accepted on the following video formats: VHS, SVHS, DVD, MiniDV and DVcam. Entry forms and more information can be found at LMC-TV’s two main locations:
