Three Mam'k Village Dem Trustees Run for Re-Election
Dems Announce Candidate for Village Justice
release from Village of Mamaroneck Democratic Party
(September 2, 2008) The Village of Mamaroneck Democratic Party is proud
to announce its candidates for the fall election. Trustees Tom Murphy,
Toni Pergola Ryan and John Hofstetter have agreed to run for re-election
and active community member, Dan Gallagher, will run for Village Justice
this November 4th.

Trustee Murphy remarked, "I am excited to be on the ballot with
such hard working and dedicated people as John, Toni and Dan."
Since 2006, when Tom, Toni and John were elected, Mamaroneck has enacted
new laws to curb over-development and to protect the environment. Also
important, this Board is restoring Mamaroneck's reputation.
Said Toni Ryan, "We have worked hard to change the tenor of Village
Board meetings. We believe that civility and open dialogue have gone a
long way to restoring peoples’ faith in their government."
The team has made much progress but there is still a great deal of work
to be done, and many challenges lie ahead for Mamaroneck in the next two
years. John Hofstetter explained, "As Village Trustees, we will continue
to work hard to increase the efficiency of Village government and keep
taxes down. Many important decisions are still to be made and we are a
team that has been thoughtful and judicious in our approach to meeting
the challenges that face our community."
Democrats
are particularly pleased that Dan Gallagher has consented to be the judicial
candidate. Mr. Gallagher will bring a fresh perspective to the Mamaroneck
bench. Dan is an attorney with over 23 years of experience. He is a regular
community volunteer whose activities include service as a member of the
Harbor and Coastal Zone Management Commission, Chairman of the Rye Neck
PTSA Safety Committee and coach for Mamaroneck Junior Soccer League, Larchmont-Mamaroneck
Little League baseball and Larchmont-Mamaroneck Basketball Association
teams.
“Mamaroneck is a wonderfully vibrant community,” observed
Dan. “My wife, Gretta, and I are really happy to be raising our
children in the Village and I am eager for the opportunity to serve as
Village Justice. I would bring integrity, experience and common sense
to all matters that come before the Court.”
Election Day is Tuesday, November 4th.
