NANCY D. QUINN

Nancy Quinn & Roger Nancy Dallas Quinn, 81, of Larchmont, NY passed away in her sleep, December 8, 2007. She was born and raised in La Canada, California by Frances (O'Shea), a homemaker, and Cleaves A. Jones, a decorated WWI fighter pilot and journalist for the Los Angles Times.

Nancy graduated from Immaculate Heart College with a bachelor's degree, and received a master's degree in English from UCLA. While at college Nancy directed several plays and enjoyed singing on stage. After graduation Nancy taught at the elementary school level for several years.

Nancy moved to Washington DC at the age of 24 and met her soon to be husband, Robert J. Quinn, while both were working at the CBS television affiliate WTOP. Her husband, a graduate of Northwestern University, and WWII veteran stationed in England, was a television News Director at WTOP.

The family moved to Larchmont in 1961. The mother of four children and one grandchild, Nancy was involved for over a decade in the activities of the local school board. An avid world traveler she mixed her love for art with a passion for figure skating, Nancy and her husband wrote and published a book on figure skating pins in 1986. The book, "Figure Skating Pins" was the definitive word on such pins. While Nancy once looked to the theater for her artistic fulfillment it was cooking sophisticated meals that finally satisfied her creative needs.

She is survived by her four children Brigid of Fairfield, Connecticut, Sean and Christopher of Larchmont, New York and Erin and grandson Sean of Charlottesville, Virginia and beloved bunny Roger.

The wake will be held at John J. Fox Funeral Home, Larchmont, NY (914-834-0144) on Thursday, December 13th, from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM. The Mass will be at St. Augustine's Church at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 14th.
