CARMELLO "BOY" GERMANO

Carmello "Boy" Germano, died December 5, 2007. Born in White Plains on March 24, 1915 to Gaetano & Bernada Germano. He moved to Mamaroneck at an early age and attended local public schools.

In early 1942 he was drafted into the US Army where he rose to the rank of Tech Sgt. in a tank destroyer company. He returned to Mamaroneck after WWII and was associated with the Mamaroneck Garage until he retired at age 62 and pursued traveling.

He and his companion Marion Sweetland enjoyed their Air Stream Trailer traveling the US with two trips to Alaska. They belonged to the Wally Barnum Air Stream Club in the "Berkshire Unit" and also the Family Coach. He enjoyed winters in Punta Gorda, FL at Paradise Park, and summers in Milford, PA at Lake Adventure, but always enjoyed having his main residence in his favorite home, Mamaroneck.

He gave back to his community by donating the land that the Mamaroneck EMS building sits on today. He also donated the school house bell on the 1775 Schoolhouse at Harbor Island.

He is the brother of Angela Fiorito & Joseph Germano both of Mamaroneck, Ann Enke of Danbury and the late Francis Quadagno & Minnie Grossi.

Visitation Sunday, December 9 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767 E. Boston Post Rd., Mamaroneck, 914-698-5968. Funeral Mass Monday, December 10 at 10 am St. Vito's RC Church followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemtery. Donations in lieu of flowers can be sent to the American Diabetes Association.
