IRENE ARDLEIGH MILLER

Irene Ardleigh Miller of Rye, New York, passed away on November 28, 2007 after a long and courageous battle against cancer. Irene was a self-educated woman, schooling herself in the classics and opera. She was an active sports woman, accomplished equestrian and an outstanding swimmer.

In her early years, Irene could be seen at the helm of her beloved sailboat, Indigo. She loved to take long walks in the countryside and work in her garden. She was a needlepoint and cross stitching expert. For many years she provided loving and tender home care for the Miller family. Irene particularly enjoyed her time on Little Saint Simon's Island in Georgia.

Irene was predeceased by her beloved husband Edmund earlier this year. Succeeded by her sons Paul Ardleigh and his wife Linda of Larchmont, NY; Carl Ardleigh and his wife Ila of Boca Raton, FL; Christopher Ardleigh of Charlottesville, VA; grandchildren Kristen Chadwick, Erin Ardleigh, Kerry McCollough, Katherine Ardleigh, Meghan Ardleigh, and her great-grandchildren Tyler and Avery Chadwick.

Services will be held Monday, December 3, 11 AM at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, Mamaroneck, NY. Burial at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Tarrytown. A reception will follow at Gus's Restaurant in Harrison. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rosenthal Hospice Residence, Stamford, CT, who made Irene's last days comfortable and dignified.
