JANE RAE FERGUSON TEBBENS
Jane Tebbens died November 2 in Bar Harbor, ME. She was 76. Jane was the daughter of William and Faith Ferguson. Her brothers John and Peter predeceased her.Jane grew up in New Rochelle, NY and contracted polio when she was two. She attended Vassar College, earning her bachelor's in 1952. She married Arthur Tebbens in Naples, Italy in 1956. They lived in NYC before moving to Larchmont in 1963. They moved to Bar Harbor, ME in 2003.
Throughout her life Jane was a loving wife and mother. She was a member of a cancer support team and St. John's Episcopal Church. She delighted in making a beautiful and welcoming home and was sustained by friendships within her Spirit Group.
Jane is survived by her husband Arthur and daughters Alice Rutledge, Liddy Hubbell, and Sarah Barton, grandchildren Andy, Emily, Nora, Nicholas and Kate and lifelong friend Sally Howland.
Memorials will be held Tuesday, November 27 at 11 am at St. John's Episcopal Church in Larchmont and July 19, 2008 in W. Fulton, NY. Memorial donations may be sent to the UN Foundation Polio Program or the Iona Spirituality Institute.
