Mam'k Residents Line-Up for Larchmont Parking Permits

(November 1, 2007) Parking at the Larchmont train station is a precious commodity, judging from the long line of Mamaroneck residents lined up outside Larchmont Village Hall early Thursday morning, November 1, to apply in person for a parking permit.

Unlike past years, Mamaroneck Town and Village residents had to apply in person, rather than by mail, for a permit that allows parking in the metered lot adjacent to the station on the New York City-bound side of the tracks.
According to Larchmont’s deputy village clerk, Brian Rilley, some people were sitting on beach chairs outside Village Hall when he arrived at 7:15 this morning, although the office doesn’t open until 8:30. There were enough permits for everyone on line, he said. However, there were only “ten, if that” left for residents of other communities who will be coming to Village Hall starting Monday for their chance to snag a permit.
Larchmont Village residents may still apply for a permit or renew my mail, but their process does not start until November 8.
For more details on the parking process, see the front page of the Village of Larchmont website.
