Nor'Easter Slams Larchmont & Mamaroneck

(Updated April 19, 2007) Photos of the storm's effects have been pouring in from Gazette readers since mid-day Sunday, April 15. Below are only a few of the many we've received depicting the results of 7 inches of rain that fell in Larchmont, Town of Mamaroneck and Village of Mamaroneck. Mamaroneck: 7 pm - Evacuations of Brookside Ongoing

Nor'easter East Brookside

Brookside Drive was inundated around 7 pm, said Abby Katz, who sent photos (above and below). She reported people were being evacuated by frontloader further down the drive.

Mamaroneck: 5 pm - Supervisor Valerie O'Keeffe Declares State of Emergency


Boston Post Road at Weaver Street was flooded and water bubbled up from the storm drains around 5 pm. Photo above and below by David Fishman.

"Flint A baseball field totally submerged after renovation - back to square one for the Larchmont-Mamaroneck Little League," emailed David Fishman.

"The area was closed off right after I finished taking these photos (above, below), as water overflowed the stream onto Brookside Drive," wrote Linnet Tse.
