MARY J. GIOVANNETTI
Mary J. Giovannetti, 91 years old, passed away quietly at her home on Saturday, December 23,
2006. Born in Mamaroneck, New York. Mary was one of nine children. Her five brothers
(Richard, John, Louis, Carlo, and James) as well as her three sisters (Laura, Sophie and Louise)
all predeceased her. She is survived by her devoted husband, Daniel L. Giovannetti, her
daughter-in-law, Gale Giovannetti, and two grandchildren, Joseph and Mary Elizabeth.
She is also survived by six nieces, eight nephews, and a network of loving relatives in
New York.
A graduate of United Hospital School of Nursing in Port Chester, New York, Mary worked as a
registered nurse during WWII while stationed with her husband in Bermuda. Following the war,
she moved back to New York, where she gave birth to her only son, Robert J. Giovannetti, who
passed away suddenly in 1997.
Upon moving to Florida in 1978 following retirement, Mary became an active member of
Wellington Seniors and a regular parishioner at St. Rita's Catholic Church. An avid reader
and a force to be reckoned with at cards, Mary's selfless devotion to her family and unwavering
faith were unmatched.
Known for her hospitality, Mary was highly respected and unconditionally loved by all who had
the pleasure of knowing her. Although she will be deeply missed, her family wishes to celebrate
the time they did have with her. Her quiet laugh, bright eyes, and overwhelming generosity
will live on in the hearts of those who love her.
Friends are invited to gather with the family Saturday, December 30 at 9:30 am, at COXE AND
GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME 767 E Boston Post Rd in Mamaroneck. An interment will follow at Gate of
Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
