ELAINE W. VERSCHOOR

Elaine W. Verschoor, of Rye and formerly of Mamaroneck, passed into eternal life peacefully at Sea View Retreat in Rowley, MA on Sunday, December 10, 2006. Elaine was born in New York City January 17, 1920. She graduated from F.E. Bellows High School/Rye Neck in 1938 and attended college in Maryland.

On April 20, 1940, she married Albert L. Verschoor, son of Otto and Mary Verschoor at Most Holy Trinity Church and they raised their five children in Mamaroneck. Elaine was employed by United Hospital in the volunteer department for many years. She was also a member of the Rye Association for the Handicapped.

She is survived by her children, Allan (Donna) of Rye, Kenneth (Beverly) of Cortlandt Manor, Eugene (Randy) of W. Newbury, MA, Sheila (Peter) Torpey of Mamaroneck and son-in-law Bob Rothballer of Rye. Her grandchildren, Lynn, Maureen, Sandra, Erin, Wendy, Kenneth, Jr., Katelyn, Brian, Christie, Stacey, Amy and four great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Albert; her parents, Eleanor and Bruce Williams, her aunt Vivian Murphy, and her loving daughter Susan Rothballer of Rye.

Visitation will be Friday, December 15 from 6-9 PM at O'Neill Funeral Home of Mamaroneck, Inc., 422 E. Boston Post Rd., Mamaroneck, NY. Mass of Christian Burial, 9:30 am, Saturday, December 16 at Most Holy Trinity Church, Mamaroneck. Interment at The Putnam Cemetery, Greenwich, CT.

The Family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff at Sea View for the loving care of our Mother (Nana).
