GORDON H. ALBERT
Gordon H. Albert, 71 passed away on December 11, 2006. Born on June 22, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY to Anton and Helen Albert. Gordon is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jackie of Larchmont, brother Warren (Doris) of Chicago, son Chris (Karen) of New Hampshire, daughters Valerie (Patrick) Moussignac of New Canaan and Rachel (Kevin) Kastner of Maryland, 4 grandchildren Michael, Jane, and Mary of New Hampshire and Kaitlyn of New Canaan and 2 step-grandchildren Samantha and Ashli of New Hampshire.
He was employed as an electronic engineer with Selectro Corp. in Mamaroneck for over 20 years and most recently worked with DERF Electronics in White Plains.
Mr. Albert served in the U.S. Army as a conscientious objector in the medical corp. He was honorably discharged in 1964.
He was an active hunter and gun collector, as well as a licensed Ham Radio Operator (WB2GJY).
Gordon was a Horologist, member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, Inc. and former past Secretary of the Westchester Chapter. Locally, he repaired clocks and watches and performed antique restorations. In addition, he and his wife were avid antique collectors and dealers.
Mr. Albert was an active member of the Town of Mamaroneck Volunteer Fire Department for about 40 years and served as Fire Chief in 1986. The volunteer fire service was a major aspect of his life.
Visitation will be Friday, December 15, 2006, 2-4 and 7-9 pm with a Service at 8 pm at John J. Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont. Burial will be at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 11:00 am.
