MARGARET (PEGGY) TROY

Margaret (Peggy) Troy, 63, of Larchmont died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on November 27, 2006.

She was born on January 27, 1943 in Flushing, NY to William and Mary Lowney. On May 18, 1968 she married John Troy at St. Andrew's Church in Flushing. They moved to Larchmont in 1973.

Peggy attended Dominican Academy High School. She graduated from the College of Mount St. Vincent and received her Master's Degree in teaching from Manhattanville College.

Peggy was a longtime parishioner of St. Augustine's Church in Larchmont. After raising her children, she taught third grade at William B. Ward Elementary School in New Rochelle, NY. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and love of reading and travel. Her family will find comfort in the wonderful and full life that she led.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 38 years, John; son Sean and his wife Bridget; daughter Julie and her husband Cyrus; daughter Maura and her husband Coleman; son Patrick; four granddaughters, Catherine, Mary, Nora, and Molly; sister Eileen and her husband Dennis; and brother John. She will be missed by her many relatives in the United States and Castletownbere, County Cork, Ireland.

A wake will be held on Wednesday, November 29 from 7-9 and Thursday, November 30 from 2-4 and 7-9 at John J. Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Peggy on Friday, December 1 at 10 AM at St. Augustine's Church. Internment to follow at Mount St. Mary's Cemetery in Flushing, NY.

Donations in Peggy's memory can be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or the Larchmont Public Library.
