ALBERT KINGSMILL BARAGWANATH
Born in Lima, Peru on July 20, 1917 Albert Kingsmill
Baragwanath, known as Barry, died Friday at his Larchmont home, where he
lived since 1947. He majored in philosophy at of Princeton University and
received his Masters degree in American History at Columbia University.
He served from Private to Captain in the US Army in both the Pacific and
Europe.
As Senior Curator at Museum of City of New York, he authored several books
on the history of New York and the lithographers Currier and Ives. He was an
avid photographer and chess player.
Mr. Baragwanath was predeceased by his wife Eileen Flanagan and his daughter Joan.
Survivors include his children, John of Larchmont, Janice of Trumbull, CT,
Eileen Patricia of Marathon FL, four grandchildren, Ashley and John Jackson
of Marathon, Dennis Shaw of Portland OR, and Timothy Shaw of Brooklyn NY.
