DOROTHY ELEANOR PECORARO
Dorothy Eleanor Pecoraro, who recently turned 82, passed away October 23,
2006 after a long-term respiratory illness. Though she was born outside
Boston, Massachusetts, she was a long-time resident of Larchmont, NY,
where she and her husband raised their family. She was married to her
high school sweetheart, Louis J. Pecoraro, Jr., of Mamaroneck, NY, in 1942.
Louis predeceased her in 1972.
Mrs. Pecoraro is survived by her devoted family, daughters, Donna P.
Sylvestri of Bronxville, NY and Gail P. Vernon of Pasadena, CA; sons-in-law,
Ronald J. Sylvestri, Sr. and James F. Vernon; her two grandchildren,
Ronald J. Sylvestri, Jr and Allyson E. Sylvestri, both of Manhattan, NY;
and her sister Frances Hance of Florida; her loving nieces, nephews,
their spouses and their children. Her beloved brother Elmer Pirrung was
lost in World War II.
She will be remembered for being a devoted mother, sister and grandmother.
She was a loving person with a glowing smile; she dedicated her life to
her family, and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
She dedicated many years to various charitable and church organizations,
and is a current member of the Women's Club of Mamaroneck.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 25 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at
O'Neill Funeral Home in Mamaroneck. A Funeral Mass will be held
Thursday, October 26 at 10:30 am at Sts. John & Paul Church, Larchmont, NY.
Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery will follow. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made in her honor to the American
Lung Association.
