EDWARD WENKS

Edward Wenks, a resident of Mamaroneck, New York, died on Wednesday, October 18, 2006, after a prolonged illness. Ed was born in New York City on November 19, 1921 to Joseph E. Wenks and Mary Anne Fitzsimmons.

He was the beloved husband of Evelyn Stephenson, loving father of Mary Dinneen and Elaine McGlinchey, and grandfather to Meghan, Dan, Ryan, Katie and Erin.

Ed attended schools in New York City and was a graduate of NIGH and the Stern Business School. A Veteran of W.W.II, Ed was an officer in the Merchant Marines, and a graduate of the Hoffman Island Officer School. Ed was the recipient of the Atlantic War Zone Bar, the Mediterranean Middle East War Zone Bar and the Victory Medal.

Ed spent most of his business career with Citicorp, where he was a Vice President. He was known for his banking knowledge, outgoing personality and great sense of humor. A long time member of the Larchment Shore Club, Ed was also involved with the Larchment Lions Club. Ed was famed for his skill as a raconteur and was also know for his striking blue eyes.

Visitation Sunday, October 22 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767 E. Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck. 914-698-5968. Funeral Mass Monday, October 23 at 10 AM St. Gregory the Great R.C. Church, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in Ed's memory be made to any of the following organizations: St. Jude's Childrens Hospital, American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
