ROCCO LEO SARLO
Rocco Leo Sarlo, 77, passed away October 17, 2006. He was born to
John Sarlo and Emelia Masone Sarlo on November 24, 1928, in Mamaroneck, NY.
Beloved husband of Rosemary Linda Sarlo, cherished father to Mary Ellen
Stout and Susan Evangelista. Dear father-in-law to Joseph Stout and John
Evangelista, and devoted grandfather to Kerriann Stout, Jay Evangelista
and Sue Ellen Evangelista. He is survived by his siblings, John,
Dominick and Buster Sarlo, Mary Capiolo and Kitty Ciraco. He was
predeceased by siblings, Joseph, James, Lewis and Emelia.
Rocky was a unique and accomplished man of great faith. The Lord was his
guiding light all his life. He served in the Army during the time of the
Korean War, at which time he had a patented invention.
He volunteered
many years at St. Gregory the Great, most notably coordinator of the
boy's retreats. For many years he was active in the Knights of Columbus.
He owned an electronics business in Harrison for many years. He will always
be remembered for his ability to fix and reconstruct anything, and had a
flair for not boasting his accomplishments. He was a humble man who only
saw good in those he met and touched many lives in a positive way.
Arrangements are entrusted to Harrison Funeral Home, Halstead Avenue,
Harrison, NY 10528, with visitation Friday, October 20 from 5 to 9 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Resurrection Church, Rye, NY, on
Saturday, October 21 at 10:00 am. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery,
New Rochelle, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinsons
Foundation, in his name would be appreciated.
