JEANNE BEVIER TRENHOLM

Jeanne Bevier Trenholm, a resident of Larchmont and New Rochelle for the past 87 years, died Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at Sound Shore Medical Center after a brief illness. Jeanne was born on October 7, 1919 to Alene Southard Pierson and Richard Brodhead Bevier. She attended the Barnard Elementary School, Rye Country Day School and was a graduate of Marymount College in Tarrytown.

During World War II, Jeanne volunteered for the British American Volunteer Ambulance Corps, ferrying ambulances from their manufacturing sites to various ports on the eastern seaboard where they would be shipped to Europe.

Shortly after the war, Jeanne earned her real estate license, subsequently earning her GRI and SRES, and was an active broker at Burbank Whittemore, now Sotheby’s until her death. In 1947 Jeanne married William Lee Trenholm of Larchmont and Charleston, SC. They were married for 37 years until the time of his death.

Jeanne was passionate about her work and her family. She found great joy from her talents of sewing, decorating and working with the Junior Choir children at her church. She was an active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Larchmont, the Larchmont Beautification Committee, The Huguenot Society of New Paltz, NY, The Westchester County Board of Realtors, The National Association of Realtors, and The Larchmont Yacht Club.

Jeanne is survived by her Sister, Patricia Bevier Flammer of Hilton Head, SC and three children, Marguerite Bevier Trenholm (Marcy), Constance Lee Trenholm Anderson (Candy), and her son-in-law, Willard James Anderson (Jim). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Leah Trenholm Anderson, James Duncan Anderson, and Elizabeth Hasbrouck Anderson, as well as numerous cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 13, 2006 at 3pm at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Fountain Square, NY.
