PETER E. MUCCI SR.

Peter E. Mucci Sr., of New Rochelle, NY, died on July 9, 2006 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, NY. He was 83. Mr. Mucci was a Mechanical Engineer for Con Edison in New York City. He was with the company for 40 years before retiring.

Mr. Mucci was born on February 17, 1923 in New Rochelle to Ernest and Frances (Cherby) Mucci. He was educated in New Rochelle and graduated from Albert Leonard High School in 1942. Mr. Mucci served in the Army from 1943 to 1946 at the 96th General Hospital in England.

On June 18, 1949 he married Jane Abate at St. Joseph's Church in New Rochelle. Mr. Mucci resided in New Rochelle for the past 83 years. Locally he was a member of St. Joseph's Church, American Legion of Larchmont, Boys and Girls Club -the August Mascaro Bingo Committee.

He is survived by his wife Jane Mucci, two daughters, Francine Mucci and Ellen and husband Daniel Andrews, two brothers, Joseph Mucci of Derby, CT and Ernest Mucci of Davenport, FL, three sisters, Lillian DeSanto and Genvieve Burigo of New Rochelle, Marie Magrin of Wappingers Falls. Family members who died earlier include, son, Peter Mucci, Jr., brother, Frank Mucci, sister, Ida DiPietro.

Calling hours are Tuesday, July 11 and Wednesday, July 12 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at N. Cancro Inc., Funeral Home. The Funeral is Thursday, July 13 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Church.
