JAMES L. “JIM“ NOLLETTI

James L. “Jim“ Nolletti, C.C.M., a lifelong Mamaroneck resident passed away on May 13, 2006. He was born in Mamaroneck, New York to the late Vincenzo Nolletti and Serafina Sirolli on September 22, 1929.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Anne Mandracchia, of Mamaroneck, his son, James J. Nolletti, of Harrison, and his daughters, Nancy (Mark) Heinbockel, of Mamaroneck, Elena (William) Skrobacz, of Richmond, VA, and Linda (Peter) Jackson, of Mamaroneck. His beloved grandchildren; James J. Jr., Justin, Jamie and Jeffrey Nolletti, John C. and Jennifer Heinbockel, Lauren and William Skrobacz, Jr. and Lindsay and Christopher Jackson also survive him. Jim was predeceased by his sisters, Ida Germano, Consiglia Porto, Lucy Mangini and Louise Poccia. His sisters, Elizabeth Poccia and Mary Caprara and his brothers Leonard and Raymond Nolletti survive him.

Mr. Nolletti was a graduate of Mamaroneck High School and the Lewis School of Hotel Management in Washington, D.C. In addition, he completed several advanced courses in Club Management at NYU offered by the Metropolitan Club Management Association. In 1949, Jim put his education to work and became the Assistant Manager at the Larchmont Yacht Club. He later became the General Manager of the Davenport Club in New Rochelle. In 1966, Jim became the General Manager of Wykagyl Country Club in New Rochelle.

The opportunity to fulfill his boyhood dream came true in 1972 when Jim Nolletti accepted the General Manager position at Winged Foot Golf Club. During his tenure at the prominent golf club, Winged Foot hosted the 1972 USGA Women's Open, the Inaugural USGA Men's Senior Open in 1980, and the USGA Men's Open in 1974 and 1984. Dealing with the myriad of issues needed to host these national tournaments became a trademark of Jim's. In 1987, Mr. Nolletti accepted a new opportunity and became the General Manager of the prestigious Metropolitan Club in New York City. He used his skill and knowledge to provide a sound financial plan and exemplary service to the membership and guests of this city landmark. He retired from this position in 1996 but continued to be a management consultant to other clubs in New York and Florida including Mara-Lago in Palm Beach.

In addition to his work as a club manager, Jim was a Past President of the Metropolitan Club Managers Association and chaired several committees in that organization. He also served on the Cardinal's Committee of the Laity for charities and the New Rochelle Rotary Club. Jim also served as an advisor to the New York State Legislature's Committee on Liquor Laws.

On a local level, Jim was an active member of St. Vito's Parish in Mamaroneck and assisted in fundraising on numerous occasions. Additionally, he was a former Chairman of the Village of Mamaroneck Republican Committee. He was also an active member of the Westchester County Republican Committee.

Above all, Jim loved being a Husband, Father and “Pop-Pop“ to his wonderful family. Jim Nolletti will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Visitation, Monday, May 15 from 7 to 9 PM and Tuesday, May 16 from 4 to 8 PM at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767 E. Boston Post Rd., Mamaroneck (914) 6985968. Funeral Mass, Wednesday, May 17 at 11 AM at St. Vito's Church, followed by interment at Greenwood Union Cemetery.
