ETHEL HENNESSEY

Ethel Hennessey, 82, lifelong resident of Mamaroneck, NY, died peacefully on Sunday, February 12, 2006 at Sarah Neuman Center for Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Mamaroneck.

Ethel was born December 26, 1923 in Port Chester, NY to Robert and Isabelle (nee MacColl) Tschampion of Mamaroneck. She was a devoted wife and mother, volunteer, and former employee of the Mamaroneck School District, where she held a number of administrative positions, including one in the Mamaroneck High School library. She was an active member of the Women's Club of Mamaroneck, and a spirited and dedicated volunteer at St. Thomas Church, where she sang in the choir and helped run the church thrift shop. Ethel was beloved for her grace, her smile, her sense of humor, and her devotion to both family and friends.

She is survived by her two sons: Robert of Tupper Lake, NY; and Paul (and his wife Susan) of Piedmont, CA; and her two grandchildren, Patrick and Margaret. She is predeceased by her husband Edward (whom she married in October, 1947), as well as her brother Robert, her sister Geraldine, and her daughter Virginia. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 25 at 11:30 AM at St. Thomas Church in Mamaroneck, followed by a reception in the church hall. Memorial donations may be made to St. Thomas Church Book of Remembrance.
