Jingle Bell Race Warms Sts. John & Paul Runners

by Barbara Gallagher

(December 7, 2006) Over 120 runners braved the cold this past Saturday, December 2, for the Jingle Bell 5K and One Mile Fun Run at Saints John and Paul Church. Rescheduled due to the rain and winds that forced the parish’s Halloweekend Festival inside on October 28, the race proved to be an ideal kickoff to the holiday season for both kids and parents taking part in the event.

Keeping in the spirit of the season, a toy and coat drive was held in conjunction with the race. The piles of donations will go for former Associate Pastor Father Pomposello’s new parish, St. Elizabeth’s Church in Washington Heights.
