Ragamuffins Brave the Winds to Parade Down Larchmont Avenue

photos by Sharon Keck, Rosemary Mancino and Judy Silberstein

(November 2, 2006) Gale-force winds and intermittent downpours on Saturday, October 28 postponed the annual Larchmont Ragamuffin Parade until the next day. When Sunday dawned clear and sunny, even the chilly breezes did not keep away the crowds. Kids and adults, many in warm, fuzzy outfits, took over Larchmont Avenue and paraded from Palmer Avenue down to Village Hall where the Larchmont Fire Department hosted lunch of hot dogs, soda and candy. Cider from the Larchmont Recreation Committee and apples from the farmers market rounded out the meal.
