Calling All Local Artists: Register in New Mam'k Directory

by Judy Silberstein

(October 26, 2006) The Mamaroneck Village Arts Council is calling on all artists in Mamaroneck and Larchmont to participate in its Directory of Local Artists. The aim of the new listing is to “foster a more vibrant and visible arts community and to help artists locate each other,” explained Catherine Hiller, herself a Mamaroneck resident, author and producer of 2 documentaries.

Arts Council

The directory is open to any sort of artist: “If you live in Mamaroneck or Larchmont and are a writer, a painter, a graphic artist, a musician, a dancer, an actor, a filmmaker, etc., please register,” said Ms. Hiller.

As an extra incentive, after the Arts Council receives its first 100 names, it will throw a party for all registered artists and friends. A visit to the group’s website, www.mvartsc.org, reveals the directory effort is already under way.

If you are a local artist, you can join the list by using the questionnaire available below or on the council website. Send answers to the questions via email to: Catherine_hiller@yahoo.com.

The council is also encouraging everyone who learns about the directory to forward the questionnaire to Mamaroneck or Larchmont friends in the arts.
