(October 25, 2006) About sixty members of the Chatsworth Avenue School Class of 2006 returned to their old playground on Friday afternoon, October 20, for a ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil four new basketball hoops. The hoops were donated in honor of the class that graduated from fifth grade in June by the Orgielewicz family, with matching funds coming from the Mamaroneck School District.  Members of the Orgielewicz family wanted to show their gratitude to the Chatsworth community for the support they give to families in times of need.

Christopher Orgielewicz was 35 on September 11, 2001, when he was killed in the attack on the World Trade Center. He left behind his wife, Olga, and three children, Ryan, then 7, Thomas, 4, and Katherine, 5 weeks, who continue to live in Larchmont.

“It’s a real gift to the entire community. So many kids of all ages play basketball there,” said Joan Rosen, spokesperson for the school district.

Class of 2006
The Chatsworth graduating class of 2006, now sixth graders, returned for the ribbon cutting.
