Rag-a-Muffin Parade More Popular Than Ever
photo essay by Judy Silberstein
(October 30, 2004) Waves of pint-sized firefighters, devils,
cats, tigers, piglets, Poohs, ballerinas, Power Rangers
and other costumed creatures flooded Larchmont Avenue for
the pre-Halloween Rag-a-Muffin Parade
on Saturday, October
30. Every year the event appears to draw more children
and their parents - could it be the free hotdogs and candy
given out by the Larchmont Volunteer Firefighters at the
end of the parade?

It wasn't only the kids
in costume. An entire Neverland famiy - Peter Pan,
Tinkerbelle, Captain
Hook,
Wendy,
John
and one
of the
Indians - joined the parade.

One, the antique pumper being restored by the Larchmont Volunteer Firefighters,
led the parade down Larchmont Avenue
and welcomed the children to crawl up and over its ladders
at the end of the march |
