Question the Candidates: II
Geoff Young

What public service have you performed in the
past year to help improve the Village?
During the twenty years I have lived in Larchmont,
I have served two terms as a trustee on the Village Board, served
as Fire Commissioner and Water Commissioner, was the Deputy Village
Prosecutor and participated on many committees, including Parks
and Trees and the Town Budget Committee. Volunteering has been
an integral part of my life during the entire time I have lived
here. Most recently, I have attended meetings of the Flint Park
Conservancy and Board meetings on the proposed budget and talked
to numerous residents, both volunteers and non-volunteers, about
the local issues that concern them most. The plans for Flint Park
and the use of our public space were mentioned by residents repeatedly.
People are concerned as well about how to preserve our quality
of life while keeping our taxes at an acceptable rate. I have also
learned that people really want to be heard and to feel that their
contributions are valued. I have decided to seek election again
to yet another term on the Board because I believe that with my
extensive experience in all areas of Village government, I can
better represent Village residents and more effectively address
their concerns than can my opponents.
