Village Board Ready For Public Input on Two Flint Park Projects

by Judy Silberstein

(November 5, 2003) Future plans for Flint Park dominated the Village Board’s agenda on November 3, 2003. Two separate projects received attention: one to expand the playing fields and environmental area at the back of the park, and the other to renovate the adjacent playground. Planning for each project has proceeded independently, and it was mostly coincidental that both projects were ready for a public hearing at the same Board meeting. Going forward, though, the Board stressed the need for cooperation and coordination, particularly with respect to raising funds that might reach more than $1 million.

Cooperation is also needed from the public: Now is the time for residents to scrutinize the designs and weigh in with their questions and comments. The drawings are up on easels in the upstairs lobby of Village Hall and at the Larchmont Library; the Board is looking for feedback, as is the Flint Park Conservancy.
