(September 20, 2003) After a week's postponement for Hurricane
Isabel, the Larchmont Committee on the Arts presented a show
and sale at Willow Park on Saturday, September 20. There
were almost fifty artists of all ages plus ice cream by Longford's,
and a French horn serenade by Willig Seife.
"The arts festival was everything we wanted it to be
--a community celebration in support of our local artists," said
Caren Gerszberg, who with Palmer Davis headed up the organizational
team for the event.
"Thanks to all involved in helping to make it happen," said
Davis. He listed the Larchmont Village Board, Arts Committee
and many volunteers, Longford's Ice Cream, the Larchmont
(DPW) Maintenance Crew and Police.
"Most importantly, thanks to all the artists and art
lovers who came to celebrate creativity. With such an enthusiastic
response, it looks like this will be the start of a new Larchmont
tradition," he concluded.
The "gallery" below provides a sampling for those
who missed the show (or those who need a recap).

"We finally got
lucky with the wonderful weather and the wonderful
art," said
Nili Asherie, Chairman of the Committee on the Arts
(far right). Kudos to "Caren Gerszberg and Palmer
Davis for pulling it
off. And
thank
you
to the
Village
of
Larchmont
for their great support."
"The Committee did
an extraordinary job pulling it together - twice,"
said
Marlene Kolbert,
Village
Trustee & Liaison to the Arts Committee (right).
"They had to work very, very hard. It was a
smashing success and we hope it will be an annual
event."
