by Emily Saltzman
NOTE NEW DATE: September 20
(August 7, 2003) The planning is underway for Larchmont's
first Fine Arts Festival featuring painting, sculpture, works
on
paper,
and
photography by local artists. This event is sponsored by
the Larchmont Committee on the Arts and will take place on
Saturday, September 20 at Willow Park in Larchmont
from
2-5 PM. (Rain date is September 21). The art will be both
for show and for sale; and, there will be free Longford's
ice cream, as well.
"We are excited to provide an opportunity for local
artists to showcase their talents to the members of this
community, which has always been very supportive of the arts," said
Caren Gerszberg, co-chair of the event. "The proximity
to the playground at Willow Park makes this an easy family
event."
Posters have already been hung around town displaying the
beautiful painting of Manor Park by Regi Klein. Cards and
posters with a print of the painting will be for sale at
the Festival. There are still spaces available for artists
to exhibit.
Interested artists should contact Palmer Davis
at 834-2624.
