Red Trucks, Blue Skies At The Firemen's Parade
photo essay by Judy Silberstein
(July 1, 2003) Flag-waving babies, children and
adults lined the sidewalks and hung out the windows
of Mamaroneck Avenue on Tuesday, July 1 to cheer
the firefighters and their apparatus and to celebrate
the mild, sunny perfect weather. After the rainiest
June in over 100 years and a week of steamy, humid
heat, the crowds turned out to appreciate both the
weather and the Village of Mamaroneck Firemen's Parade.
Firefighters, baton twirlers, bagpipers, and onlookers
continued their evening's entertainment at the Firemen's
Carnival, which will be going on for the rest of
the week.
