Larchmont's "Bark for the Park"
Celebrated Arbor Day on April 25

(April 25, 2003) The Larchmont Parks and Trees Committee, led by Chairperson Jan Feinman, orchestrated an Arbor Day celebration and planting of a horse chestnut, birch, maple and willow tree at Willow Park with the assistance of the Department of Public Works and numerous children, scouts, and politicians. This was Larchmont's 22 year as a "Tree City USA" and its third "Bark for the Park" Celebration, a concept originated by Larchmonter Wendy Weinstein Karp. There were proclamations (thanks to Mayor Bialo), music (thanks to Chatsworth band leader Peter Kanyuk and his two students), free ice cream (thanks to Longford's), face painting (thanks to the Girl Scouts, and great weather (thanks to a higher order).
