Fire and Ice at the Duck Pond

( January 25, 2003) On Saturday, the Duck Pond was open for skating. Skaters of all ages enjoyed the open-sky ice, while the Town of Mamaroneck Fire Department (Weaver Street) including their Explorer Troop (junior members aged 14-18) conducted an Ice Rescue drill at one end of the pond.

A simulated victim, outfitted in ice rescue gear, awaits rescue.

A rescue line is thrown.

The rescure moves across the ice.
