Latimer Backs Bramson
Key Endorsement For Assembly Challenger
Press Release
(October 7, 2002
) Westchester County Legislator George Latimer has thrown
his support behind Noam Bramson in the race for the
New York State Assembly in the 91st District. Latimer,
who represents Larchmont, Mamaroneck, Rye, and portions
of New Rochelle, is regarded as an enormously popular
figure on the Sound Shore, with 15 years in public office
as an elected official.
Latimer’s announcement comes one week after Democrats
unanimously selected him to chair the party’s
county organization.
"Noam Bramson is a public servant of rare quality,”
said Latimer. “As a long-time aide to Congresswoman
Nita Lowey and as a New Rochelle City Councilman, Noam
has demonstrated remarkable ability, intellect, and
principle. The Sound Shore deserves to have a representative
of Noam’s caliber fighting for us on the issues
that matter most. I am proud to support such an outstanding
candidate and will work actively to ensure Noam’s
election on November 5th.”
Bramson also picked up the endorsement of the Democratic
Committee in the City of Rye, Latimer’s hometown.
"George Latimer is among the most effective, dedicated,
and eloquent leaders Westchester has ever seen,”
said Bramson. “George enjoys a level of respect
and admiration among his constituents that is unique
in its breadth and depth. I am honored to have George’s
strong endorsement and look forward to working with
him on behalf of our community.”
