One week after Noam Bramson’s landslide primary
victory over Assemblyman Ron Tocci, prominent Democrats
are rallying strongly to Bramson’s candidacy.
Bramson announced that Congresswoman Nita Lowey and
County Executive Andrew Spano had agreed to Co-Chair
his campaign. Bramson also secured a slew of endorsements
from Democratic elected officials and leaders, suggesting
that he will have a united and enthusiastic party behind
him in the general election.
“I have had the great pleasure of working closely
with Noam Bramson for ten years,” said Lowey.
“He is a wonderful person and a truly outstanding
public servant. Noam has always been a genuine partner
in my efforts to improve education, provide quality
health care, and protect our environment. He knows the
issues thoroughly and is deeply committed to our community
and state. We need elected officials of Noam’s
caliber working for us in Albany. That is why I am very
proud to support Noam and to serve as the co-chair of
his campaign.”
Spano added that “residents of the Sound Shore
should be excited about Noam Bramson. Those of us who
have already worked with Noam know first-hand his energy,
intelligence, and passion for public service. He will
be a tireless advocate for our communities and an eloquent
voice for the mainstream values of Westchester. Noam
has my full support, and I look forward to working with
him when he takes his seat in the Assembly.”
Other leaders announcing endorsements for Bramson include:
U.S. Senator Charles Schumer, U.S. Senator Hillary Rodham
Clinton, Attorney General Eliot Spitzer, County Legislator
Martin Rogowsky, Mamaroneck Village Trustee Kathy Savolt,
Mamaroneck Village Democratic Chair Len Aubrey, Rye
Democratic Chair Ann Barringer Spaeth, Mount Vernon
City Clerk and former candidate for County Clerk Lisa
Copeland, and Rye City Democratic Vice Chair and former
candidate for District Attorney Tony Castro.
Bramson had previously been endorsed by every Democratic
elected official in New Rochelle, the Town of Mamaroneck,
and the Village of Larchmont, as well as several elected
officials in Rye and Rye Brook.
“I am honored to have such a strong team at my
side,” said Bramson. “I look forward to
working in partnership with leaders and citizens as
we apply new energy to the important challenges facing
our community and state.”
