SCHUMER AND SPITZER ENDORSE TOCCI
For Immediate Release
( September 4, 2002) United States Senator Charles
Schumer and New York State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer
have endorsed state Assemblyman Ron Tocci for re-election.
Tocci faces a Democratic primary challenge from Noam
Bramson on September 10.
“Ron Tocci is a leader – an experienced
legislator who gets results for his district. His effectiveness
as a senior member in the Assembly Democratic Majority
yields tremendous rewards for the communities he represents
– in education, environmental and health issues.
I strongly support his re-election,” said Senator
Schumer.
“Ron Tocci has been a leader in the fight for
consumer rights. From his early advocacy for public
power – battling the big utility companies –
to his current efforts protecting homeowners, senior
citizens and taxpayers, Ron Tocci has been a consumer
champion,” said Attorney General Spitzer.
“Chuck Schumer and Eliot Spitzer are outstanding
public servants,” said Tocci. “Their endorsement
and friendship means a great deal to me. We’ve
worked very closely together on numerous issues to fight
consumer fraud and senior citizen abuse. We’re
an effective team for all the people of the Sound Shore
and the state of New York.”
Tocci has also been endorsed by state Senator Suzi
Oppenheimer, state Assemblywoman Amy Paulin, and former
U.S. Representative Richard Ottinger.
