Village Board Plans Substantial Fee Increases

( December 2, 2002) The Larchmont Village Board of Trustees plans to vote on proposed increases in the fees charged for various building permits at their regularly scheduled public meeting on December 9, 2002.

“The fee increases are substantial,” announced Mayor Ken Bialo at the last Board meeting on November 19. He explained that fees have remained stable for a long time, and the hefty hikes will put Larchmont in line with communities that have “kept up with the times.”

Earlier in the year, the Board boosted parking permit fees by approximately 5% for most categories. (See the 2003 Parking Permit Price List below.) For building fees, the increases under consideration will lead to a doubling or tripling of many charges.
