Mamaroneck Town Democratic Party Endorses Noam Bramson
by Judy Silberstein
Noam Bramson's campaign for the New York State Assembly picked up the endorsement of
the Mamaroneck Town Democratic Committee this week. According to Mamaroneck
Town Democratic Chairperson Roz Weinstein and Vice-Chairperson Fred Baron, the vote of the Committee was
nearly unanimous.
Bramson had already been endorsed by many prominent individual Democrats in the Town of Mamaroneck, Village of Larchmont and Village of Mamaroneck. However, this endorsement comes from the Democratic Party committee as a whole which consists of election district leaders from the entire Town.
Baron estimates there are roughly 7600 registered Democrats, which according to the Bramson campaign, adds up to about 40% of the registered voters in the 91st Assembly District. The Bramson campaign suggests, "The Town of Mamaroneck, which includes the Village of Larchmont and a portion of the Village of Mamaroneck, is expected to account for a larger share of the Democratic primary vote than any other town or city in the 91st Assembly District." Over 40% of the registered Democratic voters live in the Town of Mamaroneck.
Originally, the Town committee had agreed not to endorse either candidate in the primary race. However, Baron reports, when Mr. Tocci announced his acceptance of the Republican offer to run on their party line in the November general election, the Town Democrats reviewed their decision.
"I am honored by the endorsement of the Mamaroneck Town Democratic Committee,"
said Bramson. "And I look forward to working with leaders and citizens throughout
the Sound Shore to address our important regional priorities."
