Local Democratic leaders announced "our strong support for Noam Bramson in the race for the New York State Assembly in the 91st Assembly District, and we call on Assemblyman Ron Tocci to withdraw from the Democratic primary immediately. The leaders are outraged that Tocci has "pursued and accepted the Republican nomination."
Mamaroneck and Larchmont Democrats signing the support letter are listed below.
Robert Carreau, spokesman for Assemblyman Tocci's campaign, confirmed for the Larchmont Gazette that Mr. Tocci "has accepted the endorsement of the Republican party. He has been welcoming support of his constituency regardless of their political affiliation."
The entire press release from Mr. Bramson and from the local Democratic leaders will appear in Larchmont Gazette's Political Forum as soon as Mr. Tocci's campaign issues its response. As of 5:00 pm an electrical outage in New Rochelle was hampering the campaign's ability to respond. It is the policy of Larchmont Gazette to provide balanced coverage of political contests.
